SATURDAY 11 APRIL

Happy Easter everyone,

Easter at Bargo Sports Club is normally a busy time full of Easter egg and seafood raffles, entertainment, activities, good food, and fun for the kids. This year we will all be spending quality time with our nearest and dearest at home.

As we were unable to bring you all together for the epic annual Easter Egg Raffles, we happily donated them to a few good causes. Our Easter egg raffle was able to support two community groups. “Caring for Wollondilly” and “Community Links Wellbeing”. Caring for Wollondilly does great work within the community and we helped them through auctions of our Eggs raise $2300. Whilst Community Links have been able to take care of a number of families that are going through some difficult times at the moment. Our congratulations go out to The Tradies for purchasing the supersized 10kg chocolate egg, and donated it to the workers at Bowral hospital!

Here at the Club we continue to work though the process to ensure the staff are looked after, by doing everything we can to ensure that they get access to all of the support available to them.

We will miss seeing our Members and our staff this Easter, but it is important that we all stay at home and stay safe. Enjoy your time together, and all the chocolate! Keep active with all the virtual classes available online and walks around your neighbourhood.

In the meantime, please keep informed with information you can trust. Below are some reputable sources for information and support.

Please take care of yourselves as we take care of your Club and our staff.

Yours Sincerely,         ,

A NOTE TO MEMBERS (3 APRIL 2020)

Dear Members,

As your Club sits silently in the absence of our Members and our staff and the many other contributors that make our Club so vibrant, our team is committed to keeping our Club both physically and financially healthy.

I want to assure you that whilst we continue to maintain the Club, our team are working toward being as strong on the day we re-open our doors as the day we were forced to close them.

Last week we had the very difficult task of temporarily standing down the majority of our staff. This was a rigorous process, during which our Human Resources team went above and beyond to inform and advise each individual staff member of the options available to them, with their best interests in mind. We remain focused on assisting our staff at this time, and will ensure all due diligence is applied to making the recently announced federal assistance available to everyone who is eligible.

During this time, we will continue to check in on the Members and staff that together make our Club the community hub that it has been for nearly 60 years. The way we live our everyday lives has changed for a while, affecting our ability to gather at the Club for dinner with friends and family, have a drink, attend a show or participate in familiar activities. Whilst we have lost the ability to connect with you in person, we want to be able to connect with you in other ways. We thank you for your loyalty, and are committed to keeping you updated regularly on what is happening.

Needless to say, we hope that your necessary absence is brief. These are unprecedented times, which have called upon the greater community to unite, and play their part in what has evolved as a community health initiative. This disruption to our everyday lives is difficult, but it is really important that we do what is asked of us, and remain focused on the wellbeing of ourselves and others.

Rest assured Bargo Sports Club will be well maintained in preparation for your return in the not too distant future.

In the meantime, please keep informed with information you can trust. Below are some reputable sources for information and support.

Please take care of yourselves as we take care of your Club and our staff.

Yours Sincerely,         ,

TEMPORARY CLUB CLOSURE (23 MARCH 2020)

Dear Members,

As you are undoubtedly aware, last night the Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced that from midday today additional restrictions have been placed on non-essential gatherings in a bid to slow the rapid spread of coronavirus in Australia.

This restriction applies to all pubs, clubs, restaurants, cinemas and indoor sporting venues across the country.

What this means to our Members is that unfortunately your Club, Bargo Sports Club  is closed from midday today, until further notice.

I would like to assure you that following the mandate applied to internal venues on social distancing last week, your Club vigilantly followed all the guidelines. We would like to thank all the Members and guests for their cooperation over this weekend, your commitment to each other as a community is commendable.

Unfortunately it appears that not all venues were able to manage the situation to an acceptable level, and therefore the government had no choice but to elevate restrictions to further manage the risk in the community.

In the meantime, your health and wellbeing and that of our staff remains our highest priority, please continue to look after yourselves and your families.

Over the coming days and weeks we will keep in touch, and will continue to share information to help our community during this difficult time.

Please keep informed with information you can trust, below are some reputable sources for information and support. We look forward to welcoming you all back in the not too distant future.

Yours Sincerely,

Dean Thomas
Chief Executive Officer

COVID-19 UPDATE (19 MAR 2020)

It is important that I update you on how your Club is responding to the current outbreak of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). Your wellbeing and that of our staff continues to be our highest priority.

With yesterday's announcement from the Prime Minister limiting gatherings of 100+ people indoors, there will be changes to ‘What’s On’ at your Club.

So it is doors open, but we will need to make some changes acknowledging the importance of the health and wellbeing of our members and our staff. It is important to note the limit on 100 people as we understand it is not the entire venue, but rather the individual spaces, limited to maintain the required social distancing measures.

OUR DOORS ARE OPEN
with activities and events postponed until further notice.
TRADING HOURS open from 10am daily
(Effective Monday 23 March)

Note: We will be monitoring numbers in areas within the Club to comply with the updated social distancing requirements.

Whilst we must make changes during this difficult time, we remain positive about what we have to offer the community both now and in the future.

We have implemented a range of additional precautionary measures in relation to the ongoing health and safety for everyone at your Club.

  • Reminding members, guests and staff of handwashing and personal hygiene requirements and provided hand sanitiser stations throughout the venue
  • Demonstrating abundant caution by requiring staff and contractors to self-isolate if they have travelled overseas
  • Increased venue cleaning procedures including regular wiping down of public surfaces such as atm’s, hand rails, poker machines and touch screens
  • Individual supply of cutlery directly to each customer
  • Wherever possible, ensured we have confidence in our supply chain of essential items to support our operations
  • Any necessary changes to promotions and events will be updated on our website and on social media

CHPRSL and Bargo Sports Club  will continue to monitor the latest developments and advice from authorities. As the current situation is a developing one, we will provide updates to changes in your Club regularly.

If you have any specific concerns or questions, we recommend you refer to NSW Health website, which is updated frequently.

https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/Infectious/alerts/Pages/coronavirus-faqs.aspx

We ask that our Members and their guests take care of themselves, and rest at home if feeling unwell. In respect to the health and wellbeing of our staff, members and their guests, we will be asking anyone presenting symptoms to go home, rest and seek medical advice.
